Game 4 is tonight at 9 on ABC. To hold you over until game time, here is a bunch of random Magic and NBA related stuff.

  • According to the Orlando Sentinel, Coach Patrick Ewing has signed a contract extension and will be back next season. Is it me, or is Pat really putting in the work? I mean, how many former superstars dedicate themselves to really putting in the required time and effort that the everyday normal coach would have to put in. This is good news for Magic fans.
  • From the AP, it turns out not having a Kobe/LeBron Finals isn't the worst thing Stern could have imagined. Ratings for Game 3 were only down 6 percent from last years Lakers/Celtics Finals. Look for tonight to be stronger.
  • The Warlock claims to have the fastest car in the NBA. He says of his BMW M5:
People in this country don't know me yet for my game, but people around this town know my car. I don't think there are any cars out on the street that could beat me. I have an engine like something in NASCAR. This car is fast. It's perfect.
Check both ways before crossing the street, people of Orlando.
  • From John Hollinger's chat at ESPN.com this afternoon:
Ian (Tampa),Why is it OK to make fun of how much Bryant wants this because he shows his teeth, but Garnett acting like a slightly tipsy fan with Tourette Syndrome is laughed at as "what he does"? I mean, Kobe gets raked across the coals for grimacing, Garnett acts like a spoiled, foul-mouthed child sitting on the bench and everyone defends him because, "he's the engine that drives the team".
Here is the rest of the chat.
  • The Fan Voice over at Orlando Magic.com has a new piece up. He called out a "local blogger" for his reaction to Orlando's Game 3 win. Since I know he isn't talking about any of us here at TPASTBM, I just have this to say: Fan Voice, what are you doing reading any other Magic blog but the Puns?
  • Back to Hollinger over at ESPN (Him and Thorpe are their best guys, BTW). Today he put out his all-time franchise rankings with the Lakers at the top and Boston in a close second. Coming in at number 15 is Orlando with 811 wins, 43 playoff wins (hopefully 3 more in the next week and a half), and 19 All-Stars. Unfortunately, Miami came in at number 14.
  • Apparently, Hedo Turkoglu got himself involved with The Law while is was in LA for Games 1 and 2. Luckily he avoided a ticket or arrest, but according to the Daily Dime, police were out in full force to enforce jaywalking.
  • Dwight has a few new things up on his blog. He has made the cover of NBA Live 10, and also posted some outtakes from his Vitamin Water commercial that has been running this last week.
  • Am I the only one who doesn't like the 9:00 PM tip of these games. I gotta get my sleep NBA!
  • The Late Show with David Letterman sent Phoenix Suns pretty boy Steve Nash to Orlando to cover the series for the show.
