Marcin Gortat sat down with Orlando affiliate ESPN 1080 this afternoon and the PUNS tried to play the role of a court stenographer.

Are you happy?

Great to be back. Its a great opportunity to play for the next couple of years. Hopefully I can give back to the Orlando Magic fans and the organization.

His agent?

Well really I did not say I wanted to play for the Dallas Mavericks. Huge opportunity to play longer minutes and chance to develop more than I would for Orlando. Kind of hard with the decision and at the end of the day its basketball and I respect Otis Smith. I will do everything to win the games and prove I am a good player and hopefully this time we will win the Finals.

Recognize the fan support.

Like I said its hard to understand what kind of situation I am in. I was in a situation where I was going to play big minutes. I grew up here as a basketball player the last 5 summer leagues and last 2 as a guy in the league. I am just happy to be back and will do everything I can to win the game. I will compete to win bigger minutes and show I am a better player than some of the guys on the team. Coach Van Gundy understands and I hope things will be alright.

Are you in your hometown?

Got to Poland 4 days ago. Just finished the 3rd camp. Lot of people in Poland decide to come over. Tomorrow we are going to have another camp and we are just trying to show these guys that basketball is something amazing and they can enjoy watching. Couple nice guys and girls who are capable of playing and we are trying to help them and see if they can make the NBA.

Compare your celebrity to Turk in relation to being a national hero.

Its pretty amazing. Its really crazy I have to say. I cannot move by myself and I have to have my friends with me. I was laughing back in the day because like Dwight Howard is in Orlando I am in Poland. I just really appreciate it and feel like I am doing something great for the country. Just trying to win the game.

Does he think he will be traded?

Well the one thing I was expecting was that I was going to play for one team. The situation is going to be really hard to me. I am going to try and develop my game and compete for minutes. If they try to trade me I will understand it is a business. If they decide to trade me I will be ready.

Have you talked to Otis or SVG?

Have not had a chance. Talked to my agent alot and people from Dallas but not Coach Van Gundy or Otis. Had a couple of text messages with equipment manager and told him to hold his spot in the lockerrroom.

Talked to any teammates?

Not really. Probably will do it next week and do it when I sign the contract. Call Dwight and make sure he is ready for next season.

Tells them that his teammates are excited?

I believe the fans are excited and the guys are. Our team will be amazing. We have alot of new guys especially Vince Carter. He could be the missing piece. We just dont want to get to the Finals. You work hard for 9 months and get to the Finals. It is a really bad feeling and I do not want to feel it again. We are going to work harder. Whatever I have to do to win games I will do it.

Do you think he could start at the 4?

I definitely believe. I am ready to play as a 4 guy. I have to get a couple of habits. A position where I am running everyday. I have to work on moves and habits. I feel like I can shoot from outside and help this team. I can cover guys and cover up mistakes.

Any message for Vince Carter?

I've got shoe size 15. He will know what I am talking about. I would like to play in his shoes.

When will you be back in Orlando?

Don't really know. National team responsibilities and camps. I will probably be back 2 weeks before training camp.

On the fans again...

People might not understand but I will try to win them over with my game.
