The fans are anxious. The analysts are waiting for the Magic to lose again so they could say "We told you so". The 76ers are waiting to go up another game so that they can take that momentum into the Wachovia Center. Otis Smith is waiting to see if this team he constructed is built for a deep postseason run, or if this is a sign of the future. A team that can win in the regular season, but choke in the postseason.
So what are the Magic players and coaches doing? Well, they are probably practicing, planning for the game, and having a few laughs. Despite all the drama of the Gortat/SVG panic comments, and the absolute meltdown in Game 1, none of this should come as a surprise for a Magic team that has battled these types of adversity before.
Remember last year when SVG told Dwight he needed to focus more? Dwight responded with a 23 point, 24 rebound, 2 block game in a win against the Nuggets. A few games after Shaq called out coach Van Gundy for being a "frontrunner", the Magic went into Boston and took care of business, even having an 18 pt lead at halftime. All year long, the experts have doubted the Magic, quick to call them frauds if they dropped a game against a lesser team. Yet, this is the same team that won 59 games, and was a top 4 team all year long despite losing their All Star PG.
When the Magic tipoff tonight, I am positive that this team will respond to the loss in Game 1 the way they always do. They will bring the energy needed on defense, the ball movement needed on offense, and the focus to do those things in all 4 quarters of the game...not just 3. Take a deep breath Magic fans, it's going to be OK again, and it will start tonight.
And well, if we lose, then feel free to comment about how big of a moron I am.

We also watch TV and read the internet, thus noticing the endless flow of unoriginal Orlando Magic related puns. We have combined to discuss the Magic, the NBA, and from time to time supply side economics and the life of Leonardo da Vinci. Together we are The Puns Are Starting to Bore Me.
